Kayseri Rail System
Kayseri Rail System project which is one of the biggest projects of Kayseri history was put into operation on 1st August 2009 after a 3-year-production process. KayseRAY project is an example project for other rail system projects in terms of cost of the contract and finishing the job in the contract time.
The project designing of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th step routes of Kayseri Rail System is studied. It is planned to combine the present Rail system and bus terminal in the frame of 2nd step studies.
In the scope of 3rd step, it is targeted to lengthen the present route from Mimarsinan Crossroad to İldem. Sivas street - Talas - Anayurt route is planned as the 4th step.
Kayseri Rail Transport System consisting of double routes starts at the West Station connected with Main Depot and Maintenance Facility in Organized Industrial Zone and ends at the East Station passing Şehit Büyükelçi Taha Carım, Hasan Esat Işık, Şehit Büyükelçi İsmail Erez ve Ahmet Gazi Ayhan Avenues, Osman Kavuncu Avenue, Karayolları crossroads, Düvenönü, Cumhuriyet Square, NATO ve FUZULİ undergrouds, Tuna str. - Sivas Str. Crossroads. Total length of the route is approximately 17.5 km.
There are 28 stations on the main route in the scope of Kayseray and the distance to each other changes from 400 to 800 meters. 18 of these stations are side platform and 10 of them are central platform. All of the vehicles are %100 low floored so their height is 28-30 cm. Station heights are immobilized to 65 meters. The widths of the stations are 2 meters at the side platformed stations and 3 meters at the central platformed stations. There are also special entrance slopes for disabled passengers at the entrance and exit.
Main route ;
When the main route considered 2 kinds of type cross section are used at the Kayseri Rail Transport System. One of them is called full dedicated. It is used at the lawny places. At this area, the rail system vehicle drives on the way separated for it and the other road vehicles are forbidden to use this area. The other type cross section gives permission both rail system vehicles and road vehicles to move at the same platform as it is at level crossing.
